Retention Information and Recommendations
Currently, under State Law, judges of the Kansas Court of Appeals are appointed by the governor and stand for retention every four years.

Below is basic biographical and other information about the Kansas Court of Appeals Justices up for retention in 2008. More information will be posted in the future.

Judges up for Retention in 2008

Judge Richard Greene -- Democrat. 56 years old. Appointed to the Court of Appeals in 2003 by Gov. Sebelius. Eligible for retention vote in November 2008. More information on Judge Greene can be found here.

Judge G. Joseph Pierron -- Republican. 59 years old. Appointed to the Court of Appeals in 1990 by Gov. Hayden. Eligible for retention vote in November 2008. More information on Judge Pierron can be found here.

No Longer Eligible for Retention

Judge Christel E. Marquardt -- Republican. 70 years old. Appointed to the Court of Appeals in 1995 by Gov. Graves. No longer eligible for a retention vote. More information on Judge Marquardt can be found here.
